Just a few tips I recommend to all users! Safety first…always!
- Protect your privacy. Don't give out personal information such as your full name, social security number, address, employer name, birthday, etc.
- Never give out your telephone number. Use your cell phone number or a pre-paid cell phone, so your address can never be traced.
- Meet in a public place. If you are meeting somebody to sell or buy goods, always meet in a safe, public environment during daylight hours.
- Bring a friend. When meeting a poster in person, always bring a buddy or tell somebody where you are going.
- Trust your instinct. If something seems too good to be true, then it probably is. Stay away from dealing with out of state or international buyers.
- Beware of scammers. Again trust your instinct. If something seems to good to be true, it probably is! Don't respond to suspicious queries, or provide personal information.
- Create a separate email address specifically for online transactions.
- Never let anybody into your home. Have the items being sold in the driveway, or in an open garage.
